Name. Mithos Yggdrasill
Age. over 4000
Gender. Male
Hometown. Heimdall
Current Location. Derris Kharlan
Race. Angel (Former Half-Elf)
Exsphere. Cruxis Crystal
Organization. Cruxis
Rank. Head of the 4 Seraphim and leader of Cruxis and the Desians
Appearance. Mithos has 3 forms of appearance. His “Lord Yggdrasill Form” appears to be in his mid 20s with a regal looking white outfit. Mithos’s “True Form” makes Mithos appear as he did upon receiving his Cruxis crystal and becoming an angel. In this form Mithos looks to be in his late-preteens to early teens. In his last form or what I like to call his “3 Harsh Truths Form” Mithos in his true form surrounds himself in a giant skeletal looking azure armor of magitechnology to enhance his powers.
^True Form^
^Lord Yggdrasill Form^
^3 Harsh Truths Form^
Weapons.
Eternal Sword: Although he no longer uses it in battle, Mithos is the wielder of the Eternal Sword. The blade created by Origin that has power over time and space.
Personality.
At first glance Mithos appears to be a happy and kind little boy. In reality he is very angry and bitter with humanity and elves, and hates most of the mortal beings of his world with the exception of Half-Elves, referring to all others as “inferior beings.”
Mithos seeks 3 things above all others. First and foremost is to revive his sister Martel. Second is his desire to end discrimination in the world as was his sister’s last wish for him before she died. The last wish he has, is to protect the mana of the world from the mortals who would overuse it.
In his own twisted fashion, Mithos truly does care and want the best for the world, however the loss of his sister Martel has caused his sense of right and wrong to be skewed and as a result he is preparing to fulfill his heroic goals through horrific means.
Magical Abilities/Exsphere Enhancements.
Angelic Ascension: Mithos’s use of a Cruxis Crystal has evolved to the point that he has gained Angelic Traits. As a result he can create a pair of wings made of pure mana as well as cast a wide arsenal of light type magical abilities. He is also ageless, and can control his appearance at will. He also has the ability to teleport short ranges in a flash of white light and does not need to eat, drink, sleep, or feel pain. While his power over the light element makes him very powerful against the element of darkness, the way the affinities of magic work in Slyvarant and Tethe’alla makes Mithos weak to the Dark Element himself outside of his final form. As a result, when facing an opponent of darkness, Mithos must destroy his opponent before they destroy him since both sides will be stronger than normal against the other.
Spells: Mithos has many spells that he can use and perform in battle thanks to his 4 millenia of life.
Former Legendary Swordsman: During his first adventure, Mithos was trained by his friend Kratos in the art of the sword. As a result, long before he received his angelic abilities he was an expert swordsman, and was legendary with his ability. Mithos for the past few millennia has neglected his sword practice and as a result his skills have deteriorated a great amount. While still knows how to wield a sword, Mithos no longer is at the legendary level he reached during his journey to make pacts with all the summon spirits and as a result his actual skill with a swords is not much better than that of a common mercenary.
Eternal Swordsman: Mithos is the wielder of the Eternal Sword, the magical weapon which he used to split Sylvarant and Tethe’alla into different worlds created by Origin with Kratos Aurion as the pactmaker. Thanks to it, Mithos has the ability to temporarily pause time for about 5 relative seconds, allowing him to cast a single spell without interruption.
Master of the Pacts: Mithos holds the rights to the pacts of all the summon spirits. However having broken his pacts with them he can no longer call upon their aide. On the flipside however, he has used their power to create Mana Links in order to keep the worlds separate and regulate the mana flow between them.
Half-Elf Heritage: Before he ascended into an angel, Mithos was a Half-Elf. As a Half-Elf he wielded considerable magical ability and talent, and as a result is very strong in terms of spellcasting.
3 Harsh Truths Form – The Neglected, The Fugitive, The Judged: Mithos has the magical ability to manifest his pain and the harshness he’s experienced in his life into the form of a robotic looking armor. In this form, he is resistant to all kinds of attacks and elements and has increased magical power and defenses.
Though his power and defense is drastically increased, Mithos has very little speed in his final form and the form itself is very large. What’s more, if Mithos is defeated in this form he will revert to a Cruxis Crystal, and unless he can somehow gain a new body will slowly begin to be absorbed by the Crystal.
History.
Mithos is known as a great hero in his homeworlds of Tethe’alla and Sylvarant. According to legend, Mithos and his three companions stopped the Ancient Kharlan War and restored peace to the world. Ending the war between the super powers Sylvarant and Tethe'alla. This group of mythical heroes was composed of three half-elves and one human, the identities of the others being Kratos Aurion, Mithos's sister Martel, and Yuan. Although Martel was slain in the war, her soul still exists in a dormant state within her Exsphere.
During the War, the companions went through many great hardships due to discrimination against half-elves, fueled by both humans and elves. Because of this discrimination, Mithos and Martel were blamed for an unnamed misfortune and expelled from their home of Heimdall. They heard of Sylvarant's approaching invasion of Tethea'lla and tried to stop it, only to be ignored because of their race. After the fall of Tethe'alla's capital, Mithos was joined by Kratos, who trained him as a swordsman and a mage. Yuan would complete their party later on, along with Noishe, a large doglike monster. Mithos would eventually go on to become the great hero of legend by single-handedly making pacts with each of the Summon Spirits (although he had Kratos make the pact with the King of Summon Spirits, Origin, in his place). Mithos then had Origin create the near-omnipotent Eternal Sword, which he used to split the world in two (to create the parallel worlds of Tethe'alla and Sylvarant) in order to prevent more magitechnology from being created. The Ancient Kharlan War was caused by magitechnology, which consumes vast amounts of mana; by splitting the world in two halves and having them vie for the small amount of remaining mana. Mithos effectively stopped the creation of magitechnology and a second cataclysmic global war. Part of the pact with Origin was a promise that he would restore the Great Seed to the world so that it could grow again; this would restore mana to the land. Instead, Mithos took it to Derris-Kharlan in order to revive and protect his dead sister, thereby breaking his pact with the Summon Spirits.
Mithos had strong ideals about peace and unity, but his sister's death deepened his hatred for humanity and made him lose track of whether the world, or her life, was more important to him. He took her final words to heart, her wish for a world without discrimination, which he interpreted as a wish to end the persecution of half-elves (what Martel truly wanted was an end to discrimination between all the different races, as stated by Yuan). Mithos's ideals then became twisted; he came to the conclusion that the only way for discrimination to end was, in his own words: "By using the Exspheres to eliminate the different bloods that flow within elves and humans, everyone will become the same lifeless beings. Discrimination will vanish. That is the grand age I strive for. People fear and hate what is not normal. They are scared of those that are different. Then the solution is for everyone to become the same."
Since then Mithos has spent all his time implementing his plan to make everyone in both Sylvarant and Tethealla into lifeless beings. In his plan he created 3 organizations, Cruxis, the Desians, and the Church of Martel. With these two of these organizations under his direct control, and the Church of Martel following the will of the Cruxis angels, Mithos began his plan practically unopposed and has continued it for the 4000 years since the end of the Kharlan war and the sundering of the worlds. Now, after long preparation his plan is coming to fruitation. All that remains to be done is the revival of Martel through use of Sylvarant’s chosen, the closest match to Martel yet, and for the last of the needed ex-spheres to be completed.
